Birds of May 03:11
LYRICS Indian winter spring A host of forgotten things Summer drew you inside Were you mis-born, Lord Jim In a place not your own Mistaking sea for home? Ma, can you tell me please Before I burn up the leaves Which train is my sister on? That the hand of your queen Be never lost to thee Not lost to thee in time Ma, can you tell me please Before I burn up the leaves Which train is my killer on?

Try It On 04:30
LYRICS Watch for the reel that set’s so you see The life you have avoided May you be bright & keen in your sight The flame inside you lifting Who is alive to witness you Inside your shell so dark & blue? Is there then a moment when You lose control and walk in air? Now I’m sure that you will agree The only thing in the way is me The smile I ordered is almost complete Well, let’s see you try it on With a match in her hand She set fire to the land That she was ripe to leave Glowing she said don’t be sad that I’ve fled Turn heads with the tricks that are up your sleeve The run was broke: I slowed to a crawl I thought the worst was behind me now But they stayed strong though I grew tall The waters that pulled him down

about

In and out of focus in a hallucinogenic haze, Bill's conversations with himself follow a travel-worn map copied over and over again. The picker journeys sonically from familiar to unknown places, a style suspended between the traditional and the avant-garde, expansive and flowing like boiled-over magma.

Bill MacKay is a musician and a musician’s friend — a genial guitarist/composer/improviser based in Chicago who has energized the experimental folk, rock and avant scenes
around town with his polyglot approach to the guitar, combining the folk of Appalachia,
the blues and gospel with rock, jazz, western-country and an array of eastern modes.
